Sushi Night and so Much More...

Its snowing.... EUW! Anyway, I tried something new tonight. It was octopus sushi aka Tako sushi. Octopus is delicious! Very chewy and slightly sweet. I also had tamago and inari sushi. Yummi! Tonight i also went to my first toastmasters meeting.... that was an experience. The people are so nice. I have never been refered to as "honored guest" so many times. I had to go to the meeting for my speech class, but im thinking about actually joining the group. The way the speakers interacted showed that they have a lot of fun together while learning how to speak better at the same time. By the way, you know how hard it is to find 2'' pink sheet inslation foam? Its damn near impossible. I went to 2 stores tonight and both places didn't carry it. GRRRRR!

Its Been Awhile...

So much has been going on lately. I had a welding project due a week and a half ago, an extremely large foam project right now, a math test last Thursday, and casting is constantly keeping me busy. Oh, I also have speech class which has class work to do every night. Wednesday i cast my monogram brooch and my black horse fly and i'm pretty excited to see if they turn out. Well i'm off to bed. Nighty night.

Pattern in the works!

That's right! I'm working on my first pattern/tutorial. I am currently drawing the pieces for a tiny and adorable owl. I want it to fit in the palm of your hand. So, for the first readers of my blog you will have a pattern of mine to sew!

No Pictures Today...

Today was an interesting day. I learned how to MIG weld! It was so cool! I have a huge project to do for my sculpture class that requires welding. Its an expressive/curvilinear line sculpture that has to be at least 5 feet in one direction and its due monday. SCARY! Other than that i'm working on cleaning up my wisdom tooth (that I had removed in the 9th grade and have kept in a box since) for a ring i'm making. I plan on setting a 3pt. diamond into it and making the acutal ring out of fine silver. My brooch hasn't changed much, i haven't really felt like working on my metals classwork lately. Well thats enough for tonight.

My First Post

So this is my First post. I've decided to create a blog because I frequent so many blogs of fellow crafters and I thought i'd jump on the bandwagon. I really want to post pictures of my work from school (like sculptures, drawings, jewelry, etc.), my stuffies, my finds from thrifting, and whatever else pops into my head. For tonight I will post pics of my latest jewelry casting project. This is a very special piece. Why? When I was carving the wax for the piece (a brooch) 2 nights ago I dropped my scalpel on the floor and when I picked it up I stabbed myself in the the knuckle. Well lasts night trip to the local intermed got me all fixed up. I may have nicked a tendon but without opening up my knuckle i'm unsure. This brooch is going to be awesome! Things are always better when a little blood goes into them.
